Mother's Day 2027 in the UK and US: Cutoffs, Bundles and Creator Links

Mother's Day comes twice in 2027 if you sell in both the UK and the US: Mothering Sunday on March 7 and the US holiday on May 9. Each one needs a gift that's easy to buy and a real order deadline. This post covers the dates, a countdown to your own delivery cutoff, a bundle link and creator codes on it.

The two dates

UK, Mothering Sunday: Sunday, March 7, 2027. Mothering Sunday falls on the fourth Sunday of Lent (Church of England), which is three weeks before Easter Day. GOV.UK lists Good Friday 2027 as March 26 (UK bank holidays), so Easter Day is March 28 and Mothering Sunday is March 7.

US, Mother's Day: Sunday, May 9, 2027. Federal law sets it as the second Sunday in May (36 U.S.C. § 117). May 2027 starts on a Saturday, so the second Sunday is May 9.

All sources checked October 14, 2026. If you sell in both countries, the UK date comes two months earlier than US shoppers expect, so plan it as its own campaign.

Build the gift as a bundle

A gift buyer shouldn't have to browse your whole catalogue to find a present for their mum. A bundle puts the set in the cart as one line at one price. In Products, select the items, choose Create bundle, name it and set its price.

If something in the set comes in sizes or colours, turn on the options page before checkout and tick Let shoppers choose size/colour on that product. The buyer picks the variant in your theme and the discount follows it. Use Heading and Description to say what's in the set and the last order date. Holiday gift bundles in one link has more on gift sets.

To keep the items as separate lines, skip Create bundle and use a cart-wide discount, or put a line-item discount on one product and leave the rest at full price.

Count down to your delivery cutoff

The deadline that matters to a buyer is the last moment they can order and still have the gift arrive by Sunday. That date depends on your packing time and your carrier, so work it out yourself and add a buffer. Then make it the link's end date and show a countdown to it.

  1. Open Advanced, then Active dates. Set the start of the campaign and an end date at your cutoff. After it passes, the link stops working and shoppers get a short notice.
  2. In Options page before checkout, tick Show a countdown until this offer ends.
  3. Under Count down to, choose When this cart link ends, so the timer and the link end at the same moment.
  4. Set the Label to name the deadline, such as Order for Mothering Sunday in or Order for Mother's Day in. It takes up to 40 characters.

Every shopper sees the same deadline, and the timer doesn't restart for new visitors. At zero, the page says This offer has ended and the button stops working. See Countdown timer and Add a real countdown to your cart link offers.

Time zones

Cart Rocket's dates and times are entered and enforced in UTC. If your store isn't on UTC, the editor shows the same moment in your store's time zone under each time field, so check it there. For a UK cutoff in early March this is simple: the UK clocks don't go forward until March 28, 2027 (GOV.UK), so UK time is the same as UTC before Mothering Sunday. For a US store, check that the time the editor shows in your store's time zone is the cutoff you meant.

Running the UK and US campaigns

The two campaigns don't overlap, so you can run them one after the other. When the UK campaign ends, duplicate the cart, change the title, products, dates and label for the US, and save it as a new link. Avoid editing the UK link's address to reuse it: links already shared with the old address stop working, and Analytics for the new address starts from zero. See Link address.

On Basic, only one cart link works at a time: your oldest active cart. If you're on Basic, turn the UK link off with Link active once it has ended, so the US link is the one that works. On Pro, links are unlimited, so both can stay in place and you can also run an evergreen gift link alongside.

Give creators their own code

If creators are featuring the gift set, add each one in Creators on the same cart. Click Add creator, enter a Name and a Code, and copy their link from the Their link column. A creator's link is your cart link with ?ref= and their code on the end, so it opens the same options page and counts down to the same cutoff.

# Orders are tagged creator-mia, or the tag you set in Order tag (optional)

Analytics shows opens, orders and revenue per creator under Creators. A creator who posts the week before and one who posts the day before are both promoting the same deadline. See Creator links and Creator drops for the holidays.

Track each country

A note on tone

Mother's Day is a hard day for some people. The same Church of England piece notes that services often include prayers for people who don't find the day easy. If your email tool lets subscribers opt out of a single campaign, offer that before the Mother's Day sends start.

Checklist

  1. UK link: ends at your own cutoff before Sunday, March 7, 2027.
  2. US link: ends at your own cutoff before Sunday, May 9, 2027.
  3. Each countdown uses When this cart link ends and a label that names the order deadline.
  4. Creators added on the cart they're promoting, with their own codes.
  5. Separate UTMs and order tags per country, and each link opened with Open under Cart link before sharing.
